다운증후군의 선별에 사용되는 단백질.

다운증후군 (Down Syndrome)에서 정상보다 감소한다. 낮은 수치는 태반의 이상을 의미할 수 도 있다. intrauterine growth restriction, preeclampsia, placental abruption, premature birth, or fetal death 등과 연관이 된다는 보고도 있다.
