+====Prevention of VTE in after cesarean delivery====
+Prophylaxis should be provided after cesarean delivery to women with the following risk factors: (([[https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4715853/|Guidance for the treatment and prevention of obstetric-associated venous thromboembolism]]))
+  * One or more of
+      - prior VTE,
+      - a history of antepartum immobilization (strict bedrest for at least 1 week),
+      - significant postpartum infection,
+      - postpartum hemorrhage of at least 1000 mL requiring re-operation,
+      -  pre-eclampsia with growth restriction,
+      - significant medical co-morbidities (systemic lupus erythematosis, heart disease, or sickle cell disease)
+      -  or a known thrombophilia.
+  * Two or more of (or one or more in the setting of emergency cesarean delivery) of
+      - postpartum hemorrhage of at least 1000 mL that does not require re-operation,
+      - BMI >30 kg/m2,
+      - fetal growth restriction,
+      - pre-eclampsia,
+      - multiple pregnancy and
+      - tobacco use during pregnancy (at least 10 cigarettes per day)
